Witnessing the True Presence of Jesus Christ
By St. Patrick Parishioners & Guest

Why is the Holy Eucharist the source and summit of the Catholic Church? Because, it is the True Presence of Christ, made present under the appearances of bread and wine that is the divine recipe brought forth by God Himself. Since the crucifixion of Christ on the cross, the Church has experienced many miracles stemming from this great sacrifice made real at every Mass around the world every day. According to the Real Presence Eucharistic and Adoration Association website, the “first and greatest Eucharistic Miracle of the Catholic Church…event took place in the 8th century A.D. in the little Church of St. Legontian, as a divine response to a Basilian monk’s doubt about Jesus’ Real Presence in the Eucharist.”

Two of the apostles themselves witnessed the True Presence of Christ, just three days after his death, when as they were walking with him on the road to Emmaus, their eyes were opened during the breaking of the bread. We too can have our eyes opened to see this True Presence by simply seeking and knocking. For Christ says, “…knock and the door will be opened unto you…”

These miracles come from seeking Christ’s strength and touching the light of his Eucharistic robe in the Blessed Sacrament, just as the gospel of Mark 5:21-tells us: the “…woman afflicted with hemorrhages for twelve years….suffered greatly …and had spent all that she had. Yet she was not helped but only grew worse. She had heard about Jesus and came up behind him …and touched his cloak. She said, “If I but touch his clothes, I shall be cured.” “Immediately …her flow of blood dried up. She felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.” Jesus, aware at once that power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who has touched my clothes?” But …the woman, realizing what had happened to her, approached in fear and trembling. She fell down before Jesus and told him the whole truth. He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has saved you. Go in peace and be cured of your affliction.” We can experience healing from the Lord with eyes of faith, by believing in our heart that if we just come to him and touch His robe, we too can be healed of whatever affliction we may have: stress from work or life, cancer, abortion, divorce, death of a loved one, illness, sin, etc… for God has no bounds and is perfect in all things, including: mercy, love and charity.

Many have come to the chapel seeking this healing and left without being disappointed…come and see for yourself, what the Divine Physician offers!
