Prayer Requests

St. Patrick Church Prayer Requests

Why do we need to pray for one another?

Jesus, said, "I give you a new commandment:* love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.  This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” " John 13:34-35  Our Lord and Savior taught us how to pray, by example and Word.  He said, " “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.  But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you."  Matthew 6:5-6

St. Paul tells us to "...encourage one another and build one another up..." and "...always seek what is good for each other and for all."  We should "pray without ceasing."  Thessalonians 5:11-17

It is through our prayers and sacrifices we offer for others that help to bring grace upon them and build them up, however God wills it.  This is how we love like Christ.

If you or someone you know, needs a prayer you may request it here.  Just complete the form below or contact the Parish Office to place someone on the prayer list.  The Prayer List will be revised at the beginning of each month.  Any new intentions will be added as they are received and remain on the list until the end of that month.  They will be removed at the beginning of the next month.  If you would like to add a prayer request to the Prayer & Sacrifice Basket or for the Our Lady of Knock Novena you may also do so here.
